Fatal Error During Installation on Vista

Issue:
Customer received a fatal error while performing the installation process of QuickVerse 2008 on Vista.
Application: QuickVerse 2008 (all versions)
Timing: 10 minutes
Notes: The system configuration of some customer's computers require the manual registration of the vbscript.dll file.  We advise you to follow the instructions below to register the file.


Resolution:
 
Disable UAC on Vista
1.      Go to START>Control Panel>User Accounts Category>User Accounts.
2.   Turn User Account Control Off and make sure that the User Account Control (UAC) (which helps protect your computer) option is unchecked.
3.   Click OK
4.   Restart your computer.
5.   Proceed to Correction Procedure.
 
Correction Procedure:
1.      Go to START>All Programs>Accessories.
2.      Right-click on Command Prompt and select "Run as Administrator".
3.   Type either:
- On x86 (32-bit Windows Vista) if you are unsure, use this one by default.
regsvr32 %SystemRoot%\system32\vbscript.dll
OR
- On x64 (64 bit Windows Vista)
regsvr32 %SystemRoot%\syswow64\vbscript.dll

If done correctly, a message will appear stating that the registration of the DLL succeeded.
4.      Click OK.
5.      Insert the installation CD for QuickVerse 2008.
6.      Follow the instructions displayed by the installation wizard.
7.      After QV2008 is successfully installed, re-enable the UAC on Vista
- Go to START>Control Panel>User Accounts Category>User Accounts
- Turn User Account Control "ON"

- Checkmark the User Account Control option.
- Click OK.
- Restart your computer.
