To close the table of contents pane and view only the text pane:
(this works for book windows only)
Click the "X" in the Table of Contents Title Bar. This will close the Table of Contents for the currently open book.
To Reopen the Table of Contents Pane
To open the Table of Contents again, click the Show/Hide Table of Contents Button on the Book Window Toolbar.
