Management of the QuickVerse Library - Previous Versions and STEP CD

Issue:
The customer needs to import books/titles from their previous version of QuickVerse or from a STEP CD.
Application: QuickVerse 2010 (all versions)
Timing: 10 - 15 minutes
Notes: Some customers have prior versions of QuickVerse installed on a different machine. The procedures listed below show you how to incorporate all your prior libraries into QuickVerse 2010.

To complete this import/move:
  1. Close QuickVerse
  2. Open Windows Explorer or My Computer and browse to the appropriate books folder on your computer
    Version Default Windows Location
    2009 PROGRAM Directory: C:\Program Files\QuickVerse 2009\QVBooks
    PUBLIC Directory: C:\Users\Public\Documents\QuickVerse 2009\books
    2008 PROGRAM Directory: C:\Program Files\QuickVerse 2008\QVBooks
    PUBLIC Directory: C:\Users\Public\Documents\QuickVerse\books
    2007 C:\Program Files\QuickVerse11\QVBooks
    2006 C:\Program Files\QuickVerse10\QVBooks
    2005 C:\Program Files\QuickVerse9\QVBooks
    8.0 C:\Program Files\QuickVerse8\QVBooks
    7.0 6.0 5.0 C:\Program Files\Parsons\QuickVerse\Books
    STEP CD D:\STEP
  3. Either select an individual book folder or select all folders using CTRL+A
    Note on Locked Books: Locked book folders end with ā€œ_lā€. Be careful NOT to copy these locked book folders unless you have the unlock code(s) from a previous unlock purchase.
  4. Copy the selected folders using CTRL+C.
    - or -
    Burn the book folders to a CD/DVD.
  5. Browse to the 2010 Public Documents File folder for QuickVerse Books
    Windows 7 / Vista: C:\Users\Public\Documents\QuickVerse 2010\books
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\QuickVerse 2010\books
  6. Paste the book folders from step #4 using CTRL+V
    Note on Duplicates: Depending on your prior version, there may be several duplicate book folders. Simply select "No" or "Skip" in order to avoid replacing your newer 2010 book folders.
  7. Open QuickVerse 2010 and right-click in the white space of the Library pane and select Re-Scan Library
  8. Browse your QuickVerse Library for the imported books
